Rena Roy, M.B.B.S., M.A., RPcouncelling

Rena is the director of Cognitive advancements in Brantford. The centre services over 700 counseling clients a year. Rena has conducted workshops on: Workplace Stress Management, Grief, Being the Sandwich Generation, Work Life Balance and a Focus on Return to Work for many local corporations.

Rena had her training as a medical doctor and practiced as a physician for many years. She developed a keen interest in mental fitness and hence decided to pursue this avenue. She has completed her masters in counseling psychology from Yorkville University and has a post graduate diploma in Clinical Behavior Sciences from McMaster University with emphasis on organizational behavior and is a Registered Psychotherapist.

Rena has extensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy from McMaster University and The University of Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counselors, Psychometrics and Psychotherapists and a Certified Cognitive Behavior Therapist with The National Association of Cognitive Behavior Therapists (U.S.A.). She is also a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Rena’s areas of interest are Organizational Health; helping clients who are on long and short term disability Return to Work, Conflict Resolution in the workplace, Health Seminars on Workplace Stress Management and Work Life Balance. She also helps clients recovering from Motor Vehicle or Work Place Accidents; re-organize their lives and find new directions if necessary using the many different models of psychotherapy.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy
The main focus of therapy is the Cognitive Behavioral approach with mindfulness.

Dr. Michael Meade, HBSc, MEd, BEd, ND

Dr. Meade graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. He has an Honours Science degree from The University of Western Ontario and a teaching degree at Althouse College (UWO). Michael further developed his skills in counselling and psychotherapy at (OISE) and graduated in 2004 with a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology. Michael works with individuals, couples and families using family therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, and brief solution focused therapy models. Michael is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the American Association of Marital and Family Therapists, and Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists, (OACCPP)
